Dish Scrubber (your soon to be best friend)

I love this little guy so much, the other day even my son was saying this was his favorite to wash dishes with too. We all spend a lot of time washing dishes, right? Why not do it with something we love? I think that’s what you’ll find after you try this little guy out. It’s small so it fits in a lot of things (the handle doesn’t get in the way) plus I love the edge on the top (I included a picture) this helps so much when there is stuck on food on a dish and you can’t get it off, this handy dandy edge will work wonders for you. I have tried other scrubbers like this and this is by far my favorite, he’s the perfect partner to do dishes with (besides maybe your kids, if they fight while doing dishes then he will for sure be your favorite though), if your kids do dishes like my kids do, they will thank me later. The other upside to this little gadget is it’s so cheap, it will be the best $2.50 you’ve spent in a long time here’s the link on Amazon or I know you can also get them at Target.

*If you are feeling really excited about this little scrubber get two and then you can have one just for scrubbing potatoes and veggies, it works great for that too.

Update– *I just barley clicked on the link to see if they price had changed since when I had actually written the post and it had, it was like $2.50 a week or 2 ago but now it is 7 something. If you don’t want to spend $7.50 on it you can get it at Target in their cleaning section for around $3.

Portable yogurt/applesauce cups for school lunches or on the go meals

portable yogurt cups 3

These are not just limited to yogurt or applesauce, the possibilities are really endless with these little babies. I came across them a few months back and since I make all my own yogurt these are perfect for sending yogurt to school in, or taking it anywhere you want it to go. These cups have never leaked once, which I LOVE, (who wants to clean up lunch pails that have been spilled in, yuck)! We also use them for applesauce, if you make your own then these are awesome to send individual portions to school in and if you don’t make your own it’s so much cheaper to buy the big jar of applesauce and then portion it out vs. buying the applesauce’s that are pre-packaged and portable. Anyway enough rambling these are perfect for any liquid or runny substance you may want to send in your child’s lunch or take to work yourself in your own lunch. Try them out, here’s a link on Amazon, I found these at Burlington Coat Factory of all places and they were cheaper than the Amazon price, but I have looked other places and even gone back to Burlington and have never been able to find them again, only on Amazon (let me know if you ever find them elsewhere). I hope they become a favorite of yours like they are mine.SONY DSC

Plastic Canning Jar Lids

SONY DSC

I love these babies; such a great addition to the canning jar. I store a lot of things in my fridge in canning Jars (homemade jam, homemade yogurt, yeast, homemade chocolate sauce, etc.) so when my friend Mel introduced these to me they were instantly a favorite. I make my own yogurt (which is another post for another day, it’s a huge favorite at this house) and these help make the process so much easier, plus you are never dealing with rust or flaky things falling off the old metal ones that have been used 1,000 times. You can get the regular sized lids and the wide mouth lids on Amazon. The regular sized are a good price on Amazon but the wide mouthed are a bit more pricey right now. I can usually get either kind for just over $3 for an 8 pack at Target, so I would check there too. Wal-Mart might be a good option too but I haven’t gotten them there before. Once you try these you will be in LOVE!  So worth the $3.

* You can’t can with these lids; they are plastic and they will melt, but they are perfect for using when storing things in canning jars.
