I wish I had all the time in the world to post… but no such luck over here. Try as I might but there is never enough time. Even though I don’t post as often as i’d like I am always talking to you in my head, telling you all about the amazing things I did today or sometimes about the craziness of life or sometimes the craziness of being a mom or the next cool thing I want to tell you about or a new recipe I tried. But tonight I am so tired so you’ll have to settle for a grateful post. This is one of my favorite pictures, one of my dearest friends Jessica is an amazing photographer and she captured some of the most tender moments after we had Hadlee. This picture has become one of my all time favorites. This was one of the first glances that Joe and I had of our sweet Hadlee Jo right after she was born. The pure joy and love we feel for her and our other 7 children is un-matchable. Sometimes I wonder and even ask myself if I measure up, or if I’m a good enough mom. I’ve been reminded several times from someone way bigger than myself that I Love my children fiercely, more than anyone on this earth, and while I am not a prefect mother I have a perfect love for each of them. I was singing a song in church a few weeks back and my 6 year old was sitting on my lap, she and I shared a very sweet tender moment together and at that time I had had the question in my heart am I a good enough mom? It was during the song that I was able to feel the most amazing spirit and it reminded me that I am doing my best and that, that’s all I can do and that Heavenly Father will make up the difference when there is areas I lack in. It was at that moment that I realized that even though at times I feel inadequate I have to remind myself I am adequate, I am more than adequate and there isn’t a better mom for my kids. So my words to you tonight is you are adequate, you are more than adequate, you are down right amazing, you are doing way better than you think you are and don’t tell yourself otherwise, when you need a reminder come read this post as a reminder that you are amazing at whatever you do/are doing, don’t sell yourself short or try and talk yourself out of it because you ARE amazing, say that to yourself a few times, as many times as it takes to make you believe it.
And so tonight I am so grateful for all the little things in my life, I am grateful that I am adequate and that so often I am doing better than I think I am and that there is someone there for me to make up the difference after I do my best. I am so grateful for every day, each one is an amazing gift and I am grateful for each and every one of those days that I get to spend them with the people I love, working, playing, doing, watching, growing, experiencing, whatever it is I am so grateful I get today. When one of our children was in the hospital for an extended period of time I remember for being grateful down to the moment and every single day that I got to spend with her was precious because I didn’t know how many more I would get. Thankfully she got better and so I still get to spend each day with her but it has reminded me to Make each and every day GREAT. So make today GREAT, be very GRATEFUL and remember you are PRETTY DARN AMAZING.
This is genius you guys, and I am not always genius so we have to celebrate when we can, I’ll celebrate by sharing it with you. It may not seem that genius or amazing but you have to try it first before you roll your eyes (you wanted to didn’t you:), it is one of my favorite things to do and has saved me so so many times, money and headache, and it keeps me organized so I had to share. And no it’s not my grocery list because I know mine is not yours but I wanted to share with you one of my favorite tips. Write your grocery list in your phone I know it seems so silly but it really is an amazing thing to do. I have a iPhone but I assume most phones have a notes section or a place where you can write things down. This is where I keep my grocery list, it has been my saving grace for a while now (a couple years maybe), I almost always have my phone with me and so that means I almost always have my grocery list with me, I have actually never forgotten my phone once when heading to the grocery store so for the past couple years since I have been doing it this way I have never forgotten my grocery list. Which makes for a lot better success at the grocery store and saves me money because I don’t have to go back to the grocery store to get all the things I forgot and leads me to another post I’ll do about my favorite tip to saving money… I can’t tell you what it is though right now because I want to do a post on it so i’ll do that soon but for now write your grocery list in your phone, try it and see if you love it. Every time I need to add something to my list I just add it right to my phone, my kids know it’s in there so lots of times I’ll ask them to write stuff on the list for me or when they need stuff I tell them “write it on the list” and they know where to go. This helps me be more organized and less forgetful which give me bonus points in the Mom department when it comes to my kids.
If I am not making my pasta sauce from scratch (which is what I prefer to do but don’t always have the time for) this is my favorite jar kind. It is clean, sometime i’ll do a post on what I mean when I talk about a food being clean, but for a quick explanation when I say clean it means it doesn’t have a lot of added junk, ingredients you can’t pronounce, or added stuff our bodies can’t digest well. So many foods are considered dirty in my opinion. The cleanest foods are foods that grow from the ground (I know that seems odd since dirt is what they grow in and dirt makes us dirty, but you have to trust me on this one:) and they haven’t gone through any or very minimal processing, for example fruits and vegetables are very clean, they grow straight from the ground so they are as clean as you can get. So when I talk about a clean food I mean just that, clean and not dirty with a bunch of bad stuff that isn’t good for us. I personally like the ingredient list to have 7 ingredients or less and all good clean ingredients. So this brings me to one of the main reasons I like this pasta sauce, it has all clean ingredients.
Here’s the list:
Italian and diced tomatoes, olive oil, fresh garlic, basil, onions, sea salt and spices and calcium chloride which is a natural ingredient to maintain the texture. There is no added sugar YAHOO, try finding a marinara or pasta sauce that doesn’t have added sugar, it’s hard to do. This stuff has awesome ingredients AND tastes SO delicious, my favorite, you’ll love it, try it in lasagna, spaghetti, as a dip for bread sticks, etc. the list could go on. You’re gonna love it!
I got this at Costco but I bet most grocery stores sell it.
